Frequently asked questions

Identity and credentials, in plain language.

Clear answers for individuals, organisations, partners and technical evaluators.

What is DiligenceID?

DiligenceID is a reusable identity and digital-credential capability for people and organisations. It helps trusted evidence move into a decision without making DiligenceID the owner of every organisation relationship.

Can anyone get DiligenceID?

The public entry is available through the configured DiligenceID application. The journeys and credentials available after sign-in depend on the current platform environment and participating organisations.

What is a digital credential?

A digital credential is trusted information issued by an organisation that is authoritative for that fact, relationship or status.

Does DiligenceID own my customer or member account?

No. The organisation continues to own its account, service, entitlement, membership, subscription, employment record or contract. DiligenceID connects reusable identity and evidence to that relationship.

Do I have to share everything?

A well-designed request asks for evidence appropriate to a clear purpose. You can review who is asking, what they need and whether you want to continue.

Can credentials expire or be revoked?

Yes. Credentials can include expiry and issuer-managed status so an organisation can determine whether the evidence remains current.

Does DiligenceID replace Microsoft Entra or an organisation IAM?

No. It can complement authentication and account platforms with trusted evidence. The organisation keeps its IAM, Entra tenant and internal systems.

How do I recover access?

Start with the Help page. The support team will guide you to the right recovery path for your account and credential context.

Who develops DiligenceID?

DiligenceID is developed by MAITS Limited in Aotearoa New Zealand, with an initial focus on New Zealand users and organisations.

Where can developers find technical detail?

The Developers page explains APIs, webhooks, protocols, credential formats, trust boundaries and current integration assumptions.

Still need help?

Ask without learning the standards first.

Use public help for access, privacy, credential and sharing questions. Organisations and partners can contact MAITS for implementation discussions.
